Bonds Proceeds Management

Ehlers Investment Partners' Bond Proceeds Management is a comprehensive service that helps our client communities establish a reliable and sufficient flow of funds, optimize their investment earnings and adequately cover projected expenses.

Utilizing an established network of experts, Ehlers Investment Partners is able to draw on many resources including direct access to many of the major primary and secondary fixed income desks and a network of community-based financial institutions, to invest bond proceeds deposited in Construction, Debt Service Reserve and other project-related funds. Investments are competitively bid and securities are protected with custodial and safekeeping services provided by TD Ameritrade Institutional, a custodian that provides safekeeping of client cash and securities.

Tax exempt debt issuers are subject to a long list of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requirements that dictate how and when they can use their bond proceeds. Through Ehlers Investment Partners, these obligations are fulfilled to reduce the burden of our clients.

At Ehlers Investment Partners, we believe that investment of bond proceeds is a key responsibility of community leaders. To help our client communities as they seek to follow industry standards of conduct, we recommend the Investment of Bond Proceeds - Best Practice, published by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), approved by GFOA's Executive Board: September, 2014.
